Ari is 16 years old and just finished his sophomore year at Chico High School. He is a well-rounded student who has strong academics and is involved in many extra-curricular activities.
Ari is on the varsity soccer team and has been playing with the Butte United and Chico Cal traveling soccer teams for approximately six years. This past spring, Butte United Crew won its last three games in the State Cup to claim the championship, beating Davis 3-2 in overtime.
Outside of athletics and academics, Ari is an Enloe Medical Center Junior Volunteer, where his knowledge of Spanish is useful in directing visitors around the hospital and helping people in the giftshop.
Ari has attended CBI Religious School since he was 5 years old and has been playing soccer every year since he was 4 years old, except for one season when he was busy studying for his Bar Mitzvah. Ari has attended Camp Tawonga for the past seven years and is scheduled to attend this summer as a Specialist In Training (SIT).
Ari is an ambitious teenager who plans to take classes at Chico State in the fall. He also enjoys driving and hopes to find a summer job to help pay for a car. Over the years, Ari has volunteered his time at local community events, including preparing meals for and feeding the homeless, and participating in CBI’s Annual Car Wash Fundraiser, which supports sending CBI students to summer camp. Ari’s parents are proud of his academic achievements, his commitment to volunteering for the betterment of his community, and his dedication to setting goals and working hard to achieve them. He is an intelligent, independent and good-hearted young man.

Joy is a self-confident, independent, responsible young woman with many skills she has worked hard at developing over the years.
Joy dances many hours per week and acts/dances in theater productions as much as possible. Joy speaks Spanish and will be spending next year in Spain. Just yesterday, she and two classmates competed in the state championship Chevron Challenge, an engineering design competition, and placed fourth! Joy also provides technology support to teachers and staff as an elective at Inspire School of Arts and Sciences, where she attends high school.
You would never guess Joy is the middle child, but she is. She has a sister 17 months older, Kaitlyn, and a sister 20 months younger, Audrey. Joy is social and easy going, as well as driven and accomplished. Joy would like to attend UC Berkeley. Joy has made time for confirmation class because she has enjoyed it very much. Joy’s parents have enjoyed seeing her path so far, and they also look forward to her future. They know it will be bright.
